DOMAINE DU GRAND FONTANILLE: AN ORGANIC WINE ESTATE IN THE ALPILLES.
In the heart of Provence, on the northern slopes of the Alpilles Regional Nature Park, lies a French gem: the Domaine du Grand Fontanille, a 17th-century bastide featuring an oriel window above the entrance.
Basking in the sun’s loving embrace and the gentle influence of the Mistral winds, the vines here thrive in harmony with nature. The vines reflect this symbiosis in their grapes: the aromatic spice of thyme and rosemary, the fruity notes of raspberry and blackberry, the earthy presence of the fields, the distant scent of lavender, and the protective embrace of the pine forests.
All wines of the Domaine come from organic cultivation.
OUR WINES THRIVE ON SEVEN UNIQUE PLOTS SURROUNDING OUR CHATEAU WHERE THEY ARE GROWN ORGANICALLY
On this land in enchanting Provence, seven different soil types merge with seven distinct weather conditions to create a unique interplay. Since 1995 we have farmed all our plots organically.
And we go further than organic requires: horses loosen the soil without compacting it, sheep from neighbouring estates graze among the vines. This approach gives rise to characteristics and aromas that make every one of our wines a unique experience.
